A Leyland belonging to David Lawson of Kirkintilloch seen crossing the old bascule bridge over the Forth and Clyde Canal in the Cowgate, Kirkintilloch. Alexander acquired the company in 1936 but Lawson’s maintained their identity and some degree of autonomy until 1961 when Alexander (Midland) took over.
