Two Commer Charabancs decorated with flags and flowers for an outing. Charabanc number 1 registered LN 9772 was driven by David Millar. Charabanc number 2, registered MS 1176 was driven by John Chalmers. This bus was commandeered by the War Department for war service in 1914 and did not return. Falkirk & District Tramways Company bought the two Commers in 1913 having to replace MS 1176 almost immediately. Both busmen were trained to drive these charabancs but had originally been tram drivers with Falkirk and District (close inspection of the photograph shows the drivers wearing their former tramway uniform caps with “motorman” on the badge, soon to be replaced by badges stating “driver”)
