This photograph, taken from Heather Avenue, could possibly have been taken while the factory was under the ownership of the M.O.D and known as the Torpedo factory, this ran until 1969 when it ceased production. After many false starts and high hopes for the building since that date it is now the home for a range of quality designer outlets.
