YWS 909 belonged to Baxters of Airdrie who were taken over by Alexander in 1962. Their name and blue livery continued as a concession to the popularity of the Baxter name in the local area. Note the modified grille with hole cut for ready access to the towing eye. This was a common modification to Reliances of this era in their latter years. It does not point to poor reliability but rather their preference for a tow start in colder weather.
