Possibly the most famous thoroughfare in Britain. Much transport interest is seen in this image from the summer of 1955, with the Castle in the background. At Jenners corner is Guy Arab 366 bound for Bingham, which had started life in wartime with London Transport as their G258, but rebodied for Edinburgh by Nudd Bros.and Lockyer of Kegworth, Leicestershire in 1952. Two of the tram replacement PD2 /20s follow, led by 481, while heading west is 248, an all Leyland PD2 /12 of 1952. The trams are 150 on service 6 and 208 on service 9.
