The 20 strong PB class entered service in 1952 although the chassis were built in 1948. These 8′ wide chassis had bodies to suit and were fitted with coach seats for long distance tours. PB12, registered DMS 825 operating in Lawson’s Fleet is seen on the summer only London and Bournemouth service at Stratford on Avon. In 1960 17 of these unique vehicles were converted to PS1 standard using parts and running units from withdrawn PS1’s resulting in 8′ bodies on 7’6″ chassis!. The running gear thus released was installed in new PD3 frames to form the 1961 deliveries, RB245-61, classified Titan PD3/3C by virtue of their having exposed radiators.
