WG 9517, Alexander’s Fleet No. P681 was one of the numerous TS8 “specials” which achieved 4 additional passenger seats by shortening the cab area and positioning the engine rear-ward slightly to protrude into the saloon, thus maintaining the maximum legal vehicle length. Note the Midland fleetname replacing Alexander on the side-flash. This dates the photograph to post May 1961 when the Alexander fleet was split-up.
