Ford Model ‘ Y ‘ 8 H.P

This photograph was taken in 1934 in St Andrew’s outside R. Forgan & Son and shows us two brand new Ford’s ( FG-9328 ) & ( FG-9832 ). These cars dated from 1934 and cost ë£120 at that time but the following year the two door model became the first closed car in the U.K. to be sold at only ë£100. R Forgan & Son was latterly a woolen mill which overlooked the 18th tee on St Andrew’s golf course. Their cars had felt-lined trunks in order to hold golf clubs. Forgan’s bought 4 of these cars from Central Motors, South St, St Andrew’s.
