Daimlers D1-D20 were delivered in 1949 with bodywork built in Newcastle- upon-Tyne by Northern Coach Builders. D1, registration FYS 101, is seen when almost new, swinging out from Broomielaw to cross Jamaica Bridge on service 32 to Clarkston. An equally new Morris Oxford, registration ONU 658, turns from Clyde Street with semaphore indicator in action.
