Seen at Perth Bus Station are TWG 545, fleet no. MRD166 and GYE 95, fleet no. RO699 in the Alexander fleet. GYE 95 was new to London Transport and dated from WWII, being acquired by Alexander in 1953 to operate Perth City services. TWG 545 was its successor and took over in1962 when it was new. An interesting similarity between the two buses is their engine, the Bristol having a Gardner 6-cyl unit while the Guy made do with a 5-cyl. version of the same engine. The difference in capacity was 8.4 litres vs 7.0 litres although many Arabs were fitted or retro-fitted with the 6-cyl. unit.
