Taxi cabs built in 1909 on Albion A3 type chassis. This scene dates from December 1914 on the occasion of the visit of the Chinese Prince Zai Sunn and his entourage to the armour plate works at Wm. Beardmore’s Parkhead Forge. The leading two cabs were registered G-1817/8. Although Albion’s automobiles proved popular their commercials were even more so and in 1913 the company decided to cease production of private cars and concentrate on their range of heavy vehicles. Today owned by the American Axle & Manufacturing Co., of Detroit, Albion now produces only axles & components.
