Single decker bus crossing the old bascule bridge across the Forth and Clyde Canal in the Castlecary. The passenger carrying vehicles had to cross with caution to avoid the “see-saw effect. Painted on the cream band was the company name Alexander and on the royal blue at midships was the bus number.Castlecary was an intermediate stage on the route between Stirling and Glasgow, where the terminus was Cathedral Stree, since the bus station was not opened at Killermont Street/ Buchanan Street until 1934.
