JGD 425 was a 4 cylinder petrol driven Ft 21 type in service from May 1951 as a City of Glasgow Police prison van, locally bodied by Croft of Gallowgate, who also built a number of double deck bodies on Albion ‘Venturer’ chassis for Glasgow Corporation.The Glasgow police prison van had the doubtfull reputation of having transport murderer Peter Manual to and from Barlinnie prison and finally to his execution there. In 1962 it was converted to travelling shop for Endrick Dairy, Hopehill Road Glasgow.It may still exist in the hands of a preservationist.
