Alexander took delivery of two Leyland Gnus in 1937. This one, WG 6608 was bodied as a bus and the other as a coach. The third axle allowed the maximum legal length to be 30′ with a corresponding increase in capacity. The Gnus were sold in 1945 and ended their lives with Stanhope Motor Services in County Durham.
